1. promoter identity

1.1These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern Competition 1: VIP Night at The Killarney Grand (the “Competition”), operated by Quack Competitions Ltd (company registration pending) (“Quack”, “the Promoter”, “we”, “us”).

1.2 The company is incorporated in the Republic of Ireland. Because Quack Competitions Ltd has not yet received its CRO registration number, the founders [FOUNDER FULL LEGAL NAME 1: TODO] and [FOUNDER FULL LEGAL NAME 2: TODO] are currently personally liable for pre-incorporation obligations under s.37 of the Companies Act 2014 as if they had entered these Terms in their own names. All obligations bind those founders personally and will be honoured in that capacity. These Terms will be formally ratified by the company as soon as practicable following incorporation by way of a board resolution, at which point the company will assume all obligations arising under these Terms.

1.3 All queries should be directed to: quackcomps@gmail.com

1.4 The venue partner is The Killarney Grand, 17 Main Street, Killarney, Co. Kerry, V93 X6FP. The Killarney Grand is a separate legal entity and is solely responsible for the operation of its licensed premises, the supply of alcoholic beverages, and admission to the venue. Quack Competitions Ltd does not hold a liquor licence.

2. definitions

In these Terms the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

Closing Date. For online (paid) entries and for the Instagram Free Entry DM verification step: 8pm on 18 June 2026, or when the Entry Cap is reached, whichever is earlier. For Free Postal Entries: 5pm on 18 June 2026 (physical receipt required).

Confirmation Email. The email sent to a successful paid entrant within one hour of a valid paid entry being confirmed, containing that entrant's unique Entry Reference Number(s).

Draw. The live random selection of the winner from all Valid Entries, conducted at 8pm on 18 June 2026.

Entry Cap. 1,000 Valid Entries in total across all three entry routes combined.

Entry Reference Number. The unique identifier assigned to each Valid Entry regardless of entry route. For Paid Entries: the ticket number(s) in the Confirmation Email. For Instagram Free Entries: the reference assigned by the Promoter and communicated to the entrant by DM reply from @quackcompetition following successful verification. For Free Postal Entries: the reference assigned by the Promoter and communicated to the entrant by email or phone following receipt and verification. The Entry Reference Number indexes the draw pool and is required to claim the prize.

Free Postal Entry. A free entry submitted by post in accordance with clause 5.3. Maximum two (2) per person per Competition.

Instagram Free Entry. A free entry submitted via the Instagram route in accordance with clause 5.2, including DM submission of a correct Skill Question answer, verified by the Promoter before the entry is added to the draw pool. Maximum one (1) per person per Competition.

Paid Entry. An entry submitted online following a correct answer to the Skill Question and payment of €2.50 via Stripe checkout. Maximum five (5) per person.

Person. A single individual identified by a unique name, date of birth, and contact details. The per-person limit is not a per-household limit. Multiple individuals at the same address each have their own per-person allowance.

Prize. 10 VIP passes to The Killarney Grand on the night of 19 June 2026, as described in clause 8.

Skill Question. The multiple-choice question published on the Promoter's website and in promotional materials, a correct answer to which is required for every entry route before that entry is added to the draw pool.

Valid Entry. An entry that: (a) is received before the Closing Date; (b) includes a correct answer to the Skill Question, verified before the entry is added to the draw pool; (c) is submitted by a person who meets all eligibility criteria in clause 3; and (d) otherwise complies with these Terms.

3. eligibility

3.1 Age. The Competition is open only to persons aged 18 or over at the date of entry. By entering, you confirm you are 18 or over. Age will be verified at the venue before any prize element is redeemed. You must produce valid photographic proof of age (current passport, national identity card, or Garda Age Card). Failure to produce proof of age results in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.

3.2 Residency. The Competition is open to Republic of Ireland residents only.

3.3 Exclusions. The following are not eligible:

  • Directors, employees, agents, and contractors of Quack Competitions Ltd.
  • Directors, employees, and staff of The Killarney Grand, and their immediate family members.
  • Immediate family members (spouse or civil partner, parent, sibling, or child) of any director or employee of Quack Competitions Ltd.
  • Any person under 18 years of age.

3.4 Own name only. Entries submitted on behalf of another person, through third-party services, syndicates, or by automated means are void. Entrants must enter in their own name using their own contact details.

4. the skill question

4.1 Requirement: all entry routes. Every entry, whether a Paid Entry, an Instagram Free Entry, or a Free Postal Entry, must include a correct answer to the Skill Question. Verification of the skill answer occurs at the point of entry for all three routes, before any entry is added to the draw pool. No payment is requested or taken until a paid entrant's answer has been validated as correct. No Instagram Free Entry is added to the draw pool until the DM submission in clause 5.2.2(d) has been received and confirmed correct. No Postal Entry is added to the draw pool unless it contains a correct answer.

4.2 The question. The Skill Question for this Competition is:

Who won GAA Football Player of the Year 2025?

(A) Gavin White   (B) Paudie Clifford   (C) David Clifford

The question and all options are published on the Promoter's website throughout the entry period so that all entrants, including postal entrants, can prepare before submitting.

4.3 Draw from verified entries. All Valid Entries, from all three routes, are placed in a single pool after confirmation of a correct Skill Question answer. The element of chance operates only among those who have already demonstrated the required knowledge.

4.4 Published answer key.The correct answer to the Skill Question will be published on the Promoter's website after entries close, so that entrants can verify the basis on which entries were assessed.

4.5 Error or ambiguity. If a genuine factual error or ambiguity in the Skill Question is identified, the Promoter will publish a correction promptly and determine whether to: (a) accept all entries regardless of answer; (b) extend the Closing Date; or (c) void and relaunch the Competition. Where the Competition is voided under this clause, all Paid Entry fees will be refunded within 14 calendar days.

5. how to enter

No purchase is necessary.

Two free entry routes are available, both at equal odds in the draw to the paid route. You may enter by: (a) Paid Entry at €2.50 per ticket (max 5 per person); (b) Instagram Free Entry (max 1 per person); or (c) Free Postal Entry (max 2 per person). Each Valid Entry has equal weighting in the draw pool regardless of route. Maximum combined entries across all three routes: 8 per person.

5.1 paid entry

5.1.1 Visit the Competition entry page on this website and complete the entry flow:

  • Step 1: Provide your name, date of birth, and contact details, and confirm you are 18 or over and agree to these Terms.
  • Step 2: Answer the Skill Question.
  • Step 3: If your answer is correct, you will be directed to the Stripe checkout to pay €2.50 per ticket. Before payment is processed, you will be asked to give express prior consent to the immediate performance of the entry contract (i.e., your entry being added to the draw pool without delay) and to confirm that you understand your 14-day right of withdrawal under s.17(1)(c) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022 will be extinguished once your entry has been processed. A record of this consent is created at the time of entry. If you do not wish to lose your right of withdrawal, do not proceed to payment.
  • Step 4: On successful payment, you will receive a Confirmation Email within one hour containing your unique Entry Reference Number(s).

5.1.2 No payment is taken unless and until your answer to the Skill Question is validated as correct.

5.1.3 Entry is confirmed only on receipt of the Confirmation Email. If you do not receive it within one hour of payment, contact quackcomps@gmail.com before the Closing Date.

5.1.4 Maximum 5 paid tickets per person. Each ticket is a separate entry in the draw pool with its own Entry Reference Number.

5.1.5 Online entries close at 8pm on 18 June 2026, or when the Entry Cap of 1,000 is reached, whichever is earlier.

5.2 instagram free entry

5.2.1 No purchase necessary. This route is entirely free of charge. No payment, subscription, or product purchase is required. The Promoter receives no monetary payment from any entrant using this route.

5.2.2 How to enter via Instagram. Complete all four of the following steps before 8pm on 18 June 2026:

  • (a) Like the official Quack Competitions competition post on Instagram at @quackcompetition (post: instagram.com/p/DZfkgGFCPA3);
  • (b) Tag three separate, real, individual friends in the comments of that post (accounts must be distinct real persons, not bots, duplicates, or your own alternate accounts);
  • (c) Repost the competition post to your own Instagram story, tagging @quackcompetition, and keep the story live until entries close (8pm on 18 June 2026) or for a minimum of 24 hours after posting, whichever is earlier; and
  • (d) Send a Direct Message to @quackcompetitionon Instagram containing: your full name, your date of birth, your answer to the Skill Question as published on the Promoter's website, and the text “Competition 1: VIP Night at The Killarney Grand.” The DM must be received before 8pm on 18 June 2026.

All four steps are required. An entry where any step is missing or incomplete is void.

5.2.3 Each person is entitled to a maximum of one (1) Instagram Free Entry per Competition, regardless of how many times any action is repeated.

5.2.4 Verification and Entry Reference. The Promoter will verify that all four steps have been completed and that the Skill Question answer in the DM is correct. Only entries where all four steps are completed and the Skill Question answer is correct will be added to the draw pool. An Entry Reference Number will be assigned and communicated to the entrant via DM reply from @quackcompetition. If you do not receive an Entry Reference Number by 8pm on 18 June 2026 and believe all four steps were completed in time, contact quackcomps@gmail.com before that time.

5.2.5 Private accounts. If your account is set to private, the Promoter may be unable to verify steps (a), (b), and (c). Send a DM to @quackcompetition before 8pm on 18 June 2026 with screenshots showing completion of all three social actions, along with your name, date of birth, Skill Question answer, and competition name. Failure to provide this evidence before the Closing Date will result in the entry being void.

5.2.6 Void entries. An Instagram Free Entry is void where: (a) the story repost is deleted before entries close; (b) tagged accounts are bots, fake, or not real and distinct individuals; (c) the entrant tags their own alternate accounts; (d) any of the four steps is incomplete before the Closing Date; (e) the Skill Question answer in the DM is incorrect; or (f) the account is made private after posting without providing DM evidence under clause 5.2.5.

5.2.7 Platform disclaimer. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. All queries must be directed to quackcomps@gmail.com, not to Instagram or Meta. By participating via this route, entrants acknowledge they are providing information to the Promoter, not to Instagram or Meta. Instagram and Meta bear no responsibility for the administration, conduct, or prize fulfilment of this Competition.

5.3 free postal entry

5.3.1 No purchase necessary. This route is free of charge and is available to any eligible person regardless of whether they hold an Instagram account.

5.3.2 Equal odds. Each Valid Free Postal Entry has identical odds in the draw to each Valid Paid Entry and each Valid Instagram Free Entry. All Valid Entries are weighted equally in the same pool.

5.3.3 How to submit. Write the following on a plain piece of paper or postcard and post it to the address in clause 5.3.4:

  • Your full name.
  • Your date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or over).
  • Your email address or mobile phone number (for Entry Reference Number assignment and winner notification).
  • Your answer to the Skill Question (as published on the Promoter's website).
  • The competition you are entering: “Competition 1: VIP Night at The Killarney Grand, 19 June 2026.”
  • The following declaration: “I confirm that I am aged 18 or over, that I am a Republic of Ireland resident, and that I agree to the Terms and Conditions of this Quack Competition as published at quackcompetitions.ie.”

5.3.4 Postal address:

Quack Competitions

c/o The Killarney Grand

17 Main Street

Killarney, Co. Kerry

V93 X6FP

5.3.5 Entry Reference Number. Upon receipt and verification of your postal entry (including confirmation that your Skill Question answer is correct), the Promoter will assign you an Entry Reference Number and notify you of it by email or phone. If you do not receive an Entry Reference Number by 8pm on 18 June 2026 and believe your entry was received before the deadline, contact quackcomps@gmail.com before that time.

5.3.6 Deadline. Free Postal Entries must be physically received at the above address by 5pm on 18 June 2026. Postmark date alone is not sufficient.

5.3.7 Maximum per person. No more than two (2) Free Postal Entries per person will be accepted.

5.3.8 Individual entries only. Photocopied or bulk-printed entries are void. Each entry must be individually written or typed.

5.3.9 Availability. This free postal route is described in these Terms, which are published at quackcompetitions.ie and linked from every entry page, so that all eligible persons can access this option.

6. entry cap

6.1 The maximum total number of Valid Entries across all three routes combined is 1,000 (one thousand).

6.2 Paid entries. The cap is enforced at the point of Stripe checkout. Once the Entry Cap is reached, the checkout will be disabled and the entry page will update immediately to show that entries are closed.

6.3 Instagram entries. Instagram DMs are verified in the order received. If the Entry Cap is reached before a given Instagram DM is verified, that entry will be void and the entrant will be notified by DM from @quackcompetition. To check whether the cap has been reached before completing your entry, check the live entry count on the Promoter's website.

6.4 Postal entries. Postal entries received before 5pm on 18 June 2026 will be verified in the order received. If the Entry Cap is reached before a postal entry is verified, that entry is void and the entrant will be notified by email or phone using the contact details provided.

6.5 Indicative odds. If the Entry Cap is reached in full and there is one prize, the maximum odds of winning are 1 in 1,000. Actual odds will be better if fewer than 1,000 Valid Entries are received. A live running entry count is displayed on the entry page.

7. the draw

7.1 When and where. The Draw will take place as a live broadcast on the Promoter's Instagram (@quackcompetition) and TikTok accounts at 8pm (20:00 IST) on Thursday 18 June 2026, immediately after entries close. This is not an in-venue draw; it is conducted as a remote live stream.

7.2 Draw mechanism. The winner will be selected live using random.org integers (random number generator), with the screen clearly visible to broadcast viewers. Immediately before activating the generator, the Promoter will state on camera: (a) the total number of Valid Entries in the draw pool; (b) the URL and method being used; and (c) that a pre-draw integrity hash has been published (see clause 7.4). The random number generated corresponds to the winner's Entry Reference Number in the finalised, timestamped draw pool.

7.3 Single pool. All Valid Entries (Paid, Instagram Free, and Free Postal) are included in the same pool with equal weighting. Entrants who purchase multiple paid tickets receive one entry per ticket.

7.4 Pre-draw integrity. Before activating the random number generator, the Promoter will publish on its website: (a) the total count of Valid Entries in the draw pool; and (b) a SHA-256 hash of the timestamped draw pool snapshot (Entry Reference Numbers only, without personal data), so that any entrant can verify after the draw that the pool was not altered. The full broadcast recording will be retained for at least 12 months.

7.5 Witnesses. The Draw will be witnessed by at least two independent adults who are not directors, employees, or agents of Quack Competitions Ltd or The Killarney Grand. A written record of the draw will be retained for at least 12 months.

7.6 Postponement. The Promoter reserves the right to postpone the Draw where circumstances outside its reasonable control require it. Any postponement will be published on the Promoter's website and social media accounts as soon as practicable.

8. the prize

8.1 Prize description. The prize for this Competition is:

10 VIP passes to The Killarney Grand, Killarney, Co. Kerry, on the night of 19 June 2026

  • Skip-the-queue VIP entry for the winner and 9 guests.
  • A reserved booth for the group.
  • Drink tokens for the table, supplied and dispensed solely by The Killarney Grand under its own liquor licence as the venue's own in-venue benefit. Drink tokens are not purchased, held, or awarded by Quack Competitions Ltd.

8.2 Non-transferable. The prize is personal to the winner and may not be transferred, sold, gifted, or exchanged for cash or any other substitute, except as required by law.

8.3 No cash alternative. No cash alternative is available, except at the Promoter's sole discretion or as required by law.

8.4 Guests. All guests attending as part of the prize must be aged 18 or over and must produce valid photographic proof of age at the venue. Guests who cannot verify their age will be refused entry. This does not entitle the winner to a replacement or compensation.

8.5 Venue responsibility. The Killarney Grand operates its licensed premises independently. Quack Competitions Ltd accepts no liability for the acts, omissions, or service standards of The Killarney Grand, including the service of alcohol.

9. winner notification and claim

9.1 Live draw announcement. The winning Entry Reference Number will be displayed on screen during the live draw broadcast at 8pm on 18 June 2026. The winner's name is not announced publicly during the broadcast.

9.2 Post-draw contact. Immediately following the draw, the Promoter will contact the winner by email and phone using the contact details provided at entry to notify them that their Entry Reference Number was selected.

9.3 Confirmation window. The winner must confirm acceptance with the Promoter by 5pm on 19 June 2026 to claim the prize on the night of 19 June 2026. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner on the evening of 18 June 2026 and during the morning of 19 June 2026.

9.4 Claiming the prize. The winner must present the following at The Killarney Grand on the evening of 19 June 2026, in addition to valid photographic proof of age:

  • Paid Entry winners: the Confirmation Email showing the winning Entry Reference Number, or the Entry Reference Number quoted verbally; plus proof of age.
  • Instagram Free Entry winners: a screenshot of the DM reply from @quackcompetition showing the assigned Entry Reference Number, or the number quoted verbally; plus proof of age.
  • Free Postal Entry winners: the Entry Reference Number communicated by the Promoter following receipt and verification of the postal entry, quoted verbally or shown in writing; plus proof of age.

In all cases, the Promoter will cross-reference the claimed Entry Reference Number against its draw records before confirming the winner.

9.5 Alternate winner. If the winner: (a) does not confirm acceptance by 5pm on 19 June 2026; (b) is found to be ineligible; (c) fails age verification at the venue; or (d) declines the prize, the Promoter will select an alternate winner from the remaining Valid Entries. This process will be repeated up to three times before the prize is withdrawn.

9.6 Winner publicity. The Promoter may publish the winner's first name and county of residence on its website and social media channels, but only after the winner has been contacted and has given explicit consent. If the winner does not consent, a text-based announcement referencing the winning Entry Reference Number only will be published. In-venue photographs or video will only be posted to social media if the winner has given consent before the content is published. The winner may opt out by notifying quackcomps@gmail.com at any time before or within seven (7) calendar days of notification.

9.7 Finality.Subject to the complaints procedure in clause 13, the Promoter's decision on all matters relating to the Competition and the Draw is final, subject to entrants' statutory rights under applicable Irish law and the right to seek independent legal redress, including through the procedures described in clause 13.

10. refund policy

10.1 Cancellation by the Promoter. If the Promoter cancels the Competition due to circumstances outside its reasonable control (see clause 15), a full refund of all Paid Entry fees will be issued within 14 calendar days.

10.2 Rescheduling. If the Competition is rescheduled rather than cancelled, entrants who do not accept the new date may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the rescheduling notification being issued.

10.3 Over-subscription. If any entry is accepted beyond the Entry Cap due to a system error, the Promoter will issue a full refund to any affected paid entrant within 7 calendar days and notify each affected entrant. Over-cap entries are void.

10.4 Failed payments. A Paid Entry is created and confirmed only on successful completion of payment. If a payment fails, no entry is created. No refund is due in respect of a failed payment.

10.5 Wrong-answer attempts. The Stripe checkout is only presented after a correct Skill Question answer has been validated. Entrants who answer incorrectly are not directed to checkout and no payment is taken.

10.6 Disqualification refunds. Where a Paid Entry is disqualified after payment for fraud, misrepresentation, or attempted manipulation, no refund is payable. Where disqualification arises from ineligibility through no deliberate fault of the entrant, a full refund will be issued within 14 calendar days. Disqualification for failure to produce age verification at the venue does not attract a refund, as this requirement was clearly stated at entry.

11. consumer rights and right of withdrawal

11.1 Leisure-activities exception. Competition 1 is a contract for a service related to a leisure activity taking place on a specific and fixed date (the evening of 19 June 2026 at The Killarney Grand). The Promoter's position is that Paid Entries fall within the exception for contracts relating to leisure activities at a specific date or period of performance under s.17(1)(l) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022. On this basis, the 14-day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to distance contracts does not apply to Paid Entries for this Competition.

11.2 Immediate performance consent (independent mechanism). In addition to and independently of the leisure-activities exception in clause 11.1, at Step 3 of the entry flow, before payment is processed, the Promoter requests your express prior consent to immediate performance of the entry contract (i.e., your entry being added to the draw pool without delay) and your acknowledgment that, once your entry has been processed, your 14-day right of withdrawal under s.17(1)(c) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022 will be extinguished. A record of this consent is created at the time of entry. If you do not wish to lose your right of withdrawal, do not proceed to payment.

11.3 Other rights. In all cases, entrants retain the refund rights set out in clause 10. Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts any statutory right that cannot be excluded by law.

14. disqualification

14.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and void any entry where: (a) the entrant does not meet the eligibility criteria in clause 3; (b) the entry does not include a correct answer to the Skill Question; (c) the entry was submitted by or through automated means, a bulk-entry service, or a third party; (d) the entrant provided false, inaccurate, or misleading information at entry; (e) the entrant fails to produce valid proof of age at the venue; (f) the entry violates these Terms in any material respect; or (g) the Promoter has reasonable grounds to believe the entry was made fraudulently or in bad faith.

14.2 Disqualification after the winner has been selected will result in selection of an alternate winner in accordance with clause 9.5.

15. force majeure and amendments

15.1 Force majeure. The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay arises from a cause genuinely outside its reasonable control, including: act of God, epidemic, civil unrest, governmental restriction, power failure at the broadcast location, internet service failure at the broadcast location, streaming platform outage (Instagram or TikTok), unavailability of the random number generation service, or closure of The Killarney Grand affecting the prize night of 19 June 2026. (Note: venue closure cannot prevent the Draw, which is conducted as a remote live stream and is not held at the venue.) In such event, the Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to reschedule the Competition and Prize. If the Competition is cancelled, a full refund of all Paid Entry fees will be issued within 14 calendar days.

15.2 Amendments. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms, or to cancel, suspend, or terminate the Competition at any time if required by applicable law or genuine operational necessity. Any material amendment affecting the odds, prize, Entry Cap, ticket price, Closing Date, or eligibility criteria will be published on the Promoter's website and social media channels as soon as practicable. An entrant who does not accept a material amendment may request a full refund of Paid Entry fees within 14 calendar days of the amendment notification, by contacting quackcomps@gmail.com.

16. limitation of liability

16.1Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

16.2Subject to clause 16.1, the Promoter's aggregate liability to any entrant arising from or in connection with this Competition is limited to the face value of the ticket price paid (for Paid Entries) or nil (for Free Entries).

16.3 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for: entries lost, delayed, or damaged in the post; entries that fail due to technical failures outside its reasonable control; inability to contact a winner due to incorrect contact details provided at entry; or any third-party acts or omissions, including those of The Killarney Grand or Stripe.

17. responsible participation

17.1 This Competition involves payment for entry. While it is not a gambling product, the Promoter encourages all participants to enter within their means. The per-person ticket limit is intended to prevent excessive spend.

17.2 Drink tokens at the venue are subject to the responsible service of alcohol standards operated by The Killarney Grand. The Killarney Grand may refuse service to any person who appears to be intoxicated or cannot verify their age. Quack Competitions Ltd has no responsibility for in-venue alcohol service.

17.3 If gambling is affecting you, free support is available at gamblingcare.ie.

18. general

18.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Promoter and each entrant in respect of this Competition and supersede all prior representations and communications.

18.2 If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18.3The Promoter's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms at any time shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

19. governing law

19.1 These Terms and Conditions, and the Competition governed by them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland.

19.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or this Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Ireland.
